The 2026-2027 Breakthrough Artist Fellowship
Championing Emerging Artists Through Artists Futures Fund
At the Bukhman Foundation, we believe that talent should never be held back by circumstance, and that giving artists the time, freedom and support to explore their ideas can make all the difference.
With this in mind, we are pleased to renew our partnership with Artists Futures Fund for a second year, supporting a new group of emerging artists through its 2026/27 Breakthrough Artist Fellowship.
Over ten months, the Fellowship provides visual artists facing barriers to pursuing a career in the arts with the practical and financial support they need to keep creating. From an unrestricted stipend and studio space to mentoring, professional development and exhibition opportunities, the programme gives artists the resources and encouragement to develop their work, explore new possibilities and take the next steps in their careers.
We’re proud to play a small part in making that possible.
About Artists Futures Fund
Artists Futures Fund, an independent charity founded in 1810 and formerly known as the Artists’ Benevolent Fund, supports talented emerging visual artists who face significant socio-economic and health barriers to pursuing creative careers. Through an annual Artist Fellowship programme delivered in partnership with selected education and cultural organisations across England and Wales, AFF aims to remove systemic barriers and help emerging artists build sustainable creative careers. Their core mission to open doors to diverse and exciting futures in the arts ensuring the arts remain accessible to individuals traditionally excluded from the sector.
