Improving Lives for Children with Type 1 Diabetes
Partnering with Life for a Child to provide essential diabetes care to children worldwide.
The Bukhman Foundation has partnered with Life for a Child , a programme of Diabetes Australia. Our contribution will advance its programme, which delivers critical diabetes supplies and assistance to children and young people with type 1 in low and middle income countries. Working in partnership with local diabetes centres, the programme currently reaches over 60,000 young people across 53 countries.
Our support will enable the procurement and distribution of blood glucose meters, lancets and test strips for children and young people enrolled in the programme around the world and will have a direct and immediate impact by improving glycaemic control and quality of life, helping prevent life-threatening complications, and strengthening the healthcare capacity of recipient centres.
Together, we are committed to reaching those children and families worldwide who need it most.
About Life for a Child
Life for a Child is an international charitable programme that works to ensure that no child dies of diabetes because they lack access to diagnosis, treatment or ongoing care. They provide insulin, blood glucose monitoring equipment, and other essential diabetes supplies, as well as education and training for children, families and healthcare workers. The organisation works in partnership with local clinics, hospitals and governments to support long-term, sustainable diabetes care.
About Diabetes Australia
Diabetes Australia is the national body supporting people affected by, or at risk of, all types of diabetes. They deliver practical assistance, subsidised products, education and evidence-based information, reaching millions of Australians through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). Working with health professionals, researchers and governments, they lead prevention initiatives, fund research, and advocate for improved care. Their purpose is to help people live well and work towards a future where diabetes can do no harm.
